Growing up, I always felt like I was missing something. I was raised in a non-practicing Christian home. I never really understood who God is, but I wanted to. I spent middle school and high school going through different phases and hobbies aimlessly trying to feel fulfilled. I was lonely, anxious, and unsatisfied. In my freshman year of high school, a ministry leader invited me to go to a weekly Bible study. This was when I started to hear the gospel for the first time, but it still didn’t click with me. I came to Bowling Green hoping for more with my faith. I joined a church, but found that it simply wasn’t for me. I spent the first three months of college feeling super lonely.


One of my only friends at the time invited me to Thursday night Cru, which I was apprehensive about at first, but I left that night excited to attend the next week. I got plugged into Lifegroups right away, and felt comfortable even in my shyness. I decided to take a leap of faith and went to IndyCC, the annual Cru Winter Conference, even though I only knew a few people and ended up seeing God really work in my life there. It was at this conference that I started to see what genuine relationships looked like, and how I’m not an exception to God’s plan and love. I started to really accept Jesus in my life and I began to see how He was what I had been missing all along.


Since then, I’ve never felt so much love and fulfillment in my life. My relationships with others teach me more about God every day, and even though I still struggle with anxiety and loneliness from time to time, God keeps showing me so much love and grace. Through loneliness and anxiety, I always felt like I was missing something. After I accepted Christ, I finally feel fulfilled.


“I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” –Ephesians 3:16-19


Just like you heard a story of a life changed by Jesus, This could be your story too and it begins by inviting Jesus Christ into your life by faith. The greatest story happened two thousand years ago when God sent his son Jesus Christ to live a perfect life, and to die as a perfect sacrifice for our sins.  “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Corinthians 5:21).  This righteousness of God is given “through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe” (Romans 3:22) so that we can have a personal relationship with God both now and after we die in heaven.


Your story could change in a moment.  The Bible says “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.  The old has passed away; behold, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17).  This could be your story. You can receive Jesus Christ right now by faith.  Romans 10:9 says “if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” You can invite Jesus into your life right now by praying this prayer.
